Jokla series, 2004
This series of forty-eight photographs documents the watershed of Iceland’s Jokla river system as it appeared before dams constructed along its length flooded it. Taken from the air, the series follows the river from its point of origin in the Vatnajökull glacier. At one point the photographs reveal a dam being built; upstream from this point, the land has long since disappeared beneath the water.
