A room is subdivided to accommodate a two-part installation. First, visitors encounter the camera obscura: a darkened room in which an inverted image of an outside view can be seen. As visitors move around a partition wall to the second part of the room, the source of the image is revealed: a semi-elliptical mirror, placed on the floor in front of a semi-circular window creates the circular vista. This vista, which is half-real and half reflected, is transmitted through a small hole in the partition. It is then inverted and the resulting image is projected onto the wall opposite the window.
