The compasses continue Eliasson’s exploration of scientific instruments and spatial experiments. Composed of strong copper wire bent into circles or semicircles and held together only with small magnets, the fragile forms resemble navigational instruments. The clusters of compasses – some hanging from the ceiling, some wall-mounted – present simple and elegant studies of spatial geometry.
