Three polyhedra are embedded concentrically one inside the other, and the two interior forms rotate slowly around the central axis. The grey-tinted glass sphere that forms the outer skin is a variation on an icosahedron, a Platonic solid made of twenty curved triangular faces. The middle layer, constructed from semi-reflective glass, is a rhombic triacontahedron, a form made from thirty rhombic faces. The dodecahedron at the core comprises twelve pentagonal panes of colour-effect-filter glass, a special material that reflects light of a single colour while allowing the remaining light to pass through it. LED spots mounted on the frame at each vertex of the outermost layer shine into the centre and are reflected out again. The light passing through the panes and narrow gaps between the glass and stainless-steel frames flickers gently as the polyhedrons turn, casting complex, variegated shapes and shadows onto the surrounding space.
