A series of fifty chromogenic prints of waterfalls, taken in Iceland. A number of the photographs were desaturated and then tinted to create a colour scale using the colours yellow, orange, red, blue, turquoise, green, violet, purple, and magenta.
'In The waterfall series, Eliasson altered the color of each picture in order to emphasize the fact that each waterfall is different. The result is almost nineteenth-century in character, calling to mind old postcards from exotic locations.'
(Matthew Drutt, 'Olafur Eliasson: A Cultivated View', from Olafur Eliasson: Photographs, 2004, p. 14.)
