In Submergence (triptych) (2016), three pairs of green and blue hand-blown glass panes support a sequence of golden discs and circular voids. The green sheets of glass derive their colour from Greendlandic glacial rock flour. The composition rests on a ledge of driftwood harvested from the shore of Iceland, the natural phenomena and landscape of which have long inspired Eliasson’s practice.
