The three lamps--Black hole lamp, Dark star, and Iris lamp--are based on the shape of a sphere, the surface of which is divided by differently sized iris lenses. The oculus opening of each lens can be adjusted in order to vary the amount of light emitted through it, as well as the shadow effect on the surrounding surfaces.
