Black activity sphere, 2010

Part of a series of experiments with the geometry of spirals and helices, Black activity sphere is formed by two layers of stainless-steel spirals, one set coiling within the other to outline a spherical shape. A myriad of triangular panes of black glass connect the two layers to form the semi-closed surface of the sphere. A light bulb at the centre casts jagged shadows onto the surrounding walls.
