From the centre of a concave mirror, a thin, rigid wire extends outwards, with a glass eye attached at its end, the pupil turned towards the mirror. Viewing the work head-on, the visitor sees a milky eye apparently floating in front of the mirror, and a larger, distorted eye staring back at her from within the mirror’s surface. The thin wire, visible as one moves about the work, evokes a line of sight extending from the glass eye, while its reflection in the mirror integrates the moment of seeing into the work.
