Embedded directly in a white wall of the gallery, twenty-four glass spheres shine brightly as if illuminated from within. In fact, the spheres allow a glimpse through an existing window that has been hidden by a wall specially constructed for the artwork. Through the process of optical refraction, the scene rendered in each of the twenty-four spheres appears upside down and distorted. The view is repeated almost identically in each sphere, creating a compound image of the environment that lies just outside the museum.
