'Petrun's Garden is a famous private "museum" in a small community in Iceland that houses its owner's collection of stones, rocks, and crystals both inside and outside. Eliasson took his photographs quickly, like snapshots, as he walked through the space and traveresed its exterior grounds, accompanied by his father, who is also a rock collector. These spontaneously composed pictures not only articulate his movememnt in and through the space, but they convey what captured Eliasson's eye at the time: the profusion of seemingly uncategorized arrangements of objects on shelves and in the landscape. This unhierarchal means of presentation is a lietmotif that resonates throughout Eliasson's [photographic] work.'
