Arranged in twelve columns of six canvases each, a series of seventy-two circular monochrome paintings presents a gradual progression of hues that loops through the entire range of visible colours. This series is an example of Eliasson’s investigations of the spectrum of visible light, which he began by working with a colour chemist to mix in paint an exact colour for each nanometre of light in the visible spectrum.
