A mirror foil is stretched over a circular aluminium frame. A second foil placed on the back of the frame creates a sealed volume. A hydraulic system pumps air into the mirror, causing the foil to bulge outwards, and then removes the air, causing the foil to contract. It takes about 30 seconds for the mirror to change shape from concave to convex. During this process, the curvature of the surface alters by approximately 3 to 4 degrees, distorting the reflection of the viewers and their surroundings.
