A camera situated at Kunsthaus Zug, in Switzerland, took a series of photographs from the same position and angle and at the same time of day for a year. The resulting image presents an array of multiple suns in an elongated figure-eight arrangement known as an analemma. The distortion of the figure eight reflects the tilt of the earth’s axis and the variation in its orbit. By tracking the changing position of the sun in the sky, Analemma for Kunsthaus Zug makes the movement of the earth over the course of a year explicit.
